Sinopse: Na versão americana, Sam Witwer (Battlestar Galactica, Smallville) interpreta o vampiro Aidan, Meaghan Rath (The Assistants) é a fantasma Sally e Sam Huntington (Cavemen, Superman Returns) é o lobisomem Josh. Os três moram juntos e se esforçam para esconder seus segredos do resto do mundo, ajudando um ao outro a enfrentar seus conflitos internos. No elenco também está o ator Mark Pellegrino, muito conhecido por seu trabalho em Lost e Supernatural, que dá vida ao carismático mentor de Aidan, o também vampiro Bishop.A intenção da versão americana não é de reinventar a série, mas sim de complementá-la expandindo alguns arcos específicos e fornecendo mais informações sobre o passado dos personagens. Mesmo seguindo a história da versão original, a série do Syfy terá algumas diferenças (umas relevantes, outras nem tanto).
